Wrap-up of Hands-on Workshops in Detroit

June 5 - June 14, 1998

Washburn University Division of Continuing Education

The Detroit workshops went very well. Participants ranged from a 15 year old student and his dad to a 50 year old animator. Please see comments below for an idea of how the participants perceived the hands-on training. Also, please see the NewTekniques Review of Bob's classes.

Participants came from the following states:

Class sizes were larger in the more advanced classes, unusual for the 1998 tour. The reason for this is that several of Bob's former students from Topeka in 1997 were picking up the character animation classes this year.

LightWave 3D Essentials 5 students
Advanced LightWave 3D Techniques 9 students
Organic Modeling & Character Animation Essentials 12 students
Intermediate Organic Modeling & Character Animation 11 students

Evaluations for each workshop asked the following question:

To what extent did this workshop meet your expectations overall?

Results: Low 0%
About what I expected 31%
Exceeded my expectations 69%
